Meeting
FACCE-JPI,EJP-SOIL & SOLO Soil Forum 13 June, Wageningen University and Research
Background
Currently, many activities are undertaken on road mapping soil-related research. There is a need to align these initiatives, in order to avoid overlap, unify definitions and align the focus. At the first soil roadmapping workshop in May 2023 in Brussels, a first inventory of roadmap activities per Soil Mission objective was made by the key players that participated in this event (see attached files). The ambition of forming a group of researchers and their related initiatives/projects to increase alignment of soil research road mapping activities and to capitalize on all the information generated in projects. This second workshop aims to synthesise information from the road-mapping activities back to the projects and to the European Commission for future research programming. Therefore, the first event was intended not to be a stand-alone event, but to establish a soil research roadmap network to efficiently work together in the future on guiding the scientific community on the topic of soil management. This is why we now kindly invite you to the second soil road mapping workshop.
Objectives of the second workshop
The second soil research roadmapping workshop will focus on how the representatives envisage the uptake of roadmaps and how this translates into road mapping activities. Moreover, opportunities will be sought for collaboration between take-up activities. In short, the objectives of the workshop are to:
- Share information about approaches in the take-up of the roadmaps
- Streamlining take-up approaches
Next to these objectives, there will be ample opportunity to learn and exchange about the different soil road mapping activities. The results of the second workshop will be part of a report to identify action points to be presented to the Soil Mission Secretariat.
